Hi Sam, I realise AI will affect everyone in the world. I'm an artist haven't made it yet. But, I've watched people us AI/Art with prompts and all the art looks like living artist that's alive today. Sadly I still have my debt from art school!!! will there be a government roll back on all the Students debt? Will humans have purpose and meaning to live and express oneself. Who is going to pay for UBI? Just remember we will become the second smartest living being on this planet within a few years from now. What that person did to this young artist is wrong!!! didn't let them know what they where doing with the joint project, more than likely used her art to train the AI in her style. Here's what should happen in the future create a contract go to a lawyer that might do some pro bono work. Or if you guys have artist union or collective you can sign up to for a small fee each year. Protect yourself from someone like this doesn't respect the time put in and doesn't even tell you they are moving ahead with the project. There are many angles of this story and yes its from the artist prospective however the writer should have at least being decent enough to tell them they where moving forward with it. Here's my quick take AI never paid any of the living artists any royalties when it was trained... on. So, if people can have their voice and likeness protected why can't art have the same thing unless its in the public domain art or art that has had its copy right lapsed like "Steamboat Willie" aka early Micky Mouse. The fact that no one holds these AI companies accountable! For what they've created let alone the fact people would rather a cheap subscription then actually pay an a living artist a liveable wage deeply saddens me. Sorry for the mini essay. But, I'm just really ticked off no one realise what the world is going to be like once AGI and then ASI is here.. everyone will be in for a rude shock when they won't be able to turn up to work anymore..
