The AI doesn't inherently have a creative will it's simply mimicking patterns it has learned from datasets of existing works, much like an artist who emulates established art styles. AI is often praised for its ability to produce art quickly and effectively, but the same characteristics are then criticized when it’s seen as a threat to human creators, specifically regarding the potential loss of jobs or devaluation of traditional art. The double standard emerges because AI is criticized for doing something that human artists do all the time drawing from existing material to create something new yet there is a perception that AI somehow violates ethical lines more than a human artist would.
