Chess already figured it out 30 years ago.
Yes ai is plain better at it. But the level of human chess went up too, and it’s way more fun to watch human players play other human players.
Given music has never really been about the player and more about the image and sound while the music is mimed along to, I have no doubt that for mainstream music ai will dominate and be the new thing the mimer who didn’t write or perform the song in the first place now mimes along to.
There will continue to be great times in music for humans, not a lot will change with ai except the music will get better.
