To our generation (X) “success” was sold in form of a college degree leading to a cushy office job, hopefully in IT because, well, that’s where the big bucks were. Crazy how AI is turning all of this upside down. On the flip side, I have yet to see a plumber or electrician go by for weeks without a job. Now us middle of the road Xers are in that awkward spot where we’re officially tired of corporate BS yet no longer have the youth, strength and stamina to take in physical labor-intensive blue collar jobs, and retirement sounds like something fading away in the distance 🥲
