What Bernie is saying has massive consequences for everyone, especially the young. If it's not over pessimistic I would be surprised.
But if there is massive unemployment, then who will buy the products of industry. Thus how would industries survive with all their profit generating technology.
Also AI cannot be stopped by the involvement of workers in the way the company is run. It could only be delayed. Which is only temporary stopgap stuff.
It's very very difficult to see how a happy society can be emerging from the IE revolution - which already seems to be happening.
