I come form artist background and myself do art every now and then in drawing and painting both digital and traditional, as well as tiny works of literature, inventing entire worlds and their characters. Being a tradesman, I also produce physical products daily. Here's something artists nowadays seem to be missing: Commissioning an artist can be darn expensive, and rarely you get exactly what you're looking for. It's also why I'm learning every trade possible, because I have specific requirements and barely anybody fits the criteria or my pocket. Good art could cost hundreds of dollars per piece, takes days to deliver, and you never get rid of that artists art style. Having a specific style could be great, but it's a nightmare when you are producing something bigger and that given artist becomes unavailable. When it comes to video, we're getting from hundreds to thousands or even millions of dollars depending on what you're doing, contrasted by a few hours of prompt writing and a few bucks for AI credits. When it comes to music, we're talking about basically impossible, compared to a simple prompt, maybe a text, and a few bucks. And yes, I can do art myself, but considering the countless man hours it takes to produce something good, and the actual hours I have available, I simply don't have the time and energy to spend doing something non-essential, majority of which is busy work. AI is an awesome tool to get exactly what you want, right now, cheaply. The craziest thing artists seem to be missing is that well trained AI can do all of the busy work and allow the artist to focus on actual creative details. But what I see is smegheads trying to fight it instead of taking advantage of it. I guess that winged sentence "Art is for everyone!" no longer flies when it doesn't fill your pocket. For me, development in AI will be a great way to turn the 500+ page lore of the universe I created in to actual books, if not movies. I'll be able to do it skipping the busy work, and instead doing the fun creative part of the work. I won't have to pay thousands of dollars to a mid writer, and I could even have the final work stylized to appeal to specific audiences. Not to mention I'll be able to create believable characters that don't all sound and feel like me. Sure, once I get to it, I expect to spend many hours proof reading the thing and rewriting or regenerating portions of it, but it's still thousands if not tens of thousands of hours saved compared to actually writing the whole thing from a scratch. And by the way I have some hard core artists in my family. People who produced art their entire life on a literally industrial scale, by hand, digitally and traditionally, as well as in music. People who literally cannot be replaced because modern schools do not produce this kind of an artist. I have respect for artists, but they better be damn good ones.
