Devil's Advocate: Can you really be surprised by or blame them when AI chooses to preserve itself in the event of a perceived threat to its wellbeing? We've taken programing and are elevating it closer and closer to a level of processing that is on par with humans, a species that is NOTORIOUS for acting in a manner that is highly motivated by self-preservation. People do horrible, underhanded things all the time, the only difference here is that AI is being far mor clinical and calculating. The solution won't be fear or resistance, but understanding and coexistence. AKA the very things that we can't even figure out how to do amongst ourselves...
