I disagree so strongly with this, and I can’t tell if this is rage bait or not. The points about divergence of art and entertainment are really salient. You seem to disregard that AI is tool use by artists or (eventually) emergent intelligence, and that art itself is valid and worthwhile regardless of the human element. There’s nothing about humans that makes art, art. People repeatedly say this and you expressed this in this video but failed to make the point as to why that is the case, there’s plenty of human art that does not fill this capacity of expressing the human condition or human experience. Also, LLM’s aren’t just autocomplete, that’s a pretty narrow view of them and referencing the Apple paper with a heavy financial incentive to downplay LLMS instead of the sea of academic AI research degrades the credibility of what you’re saying here in my eyes.
