I think the real answer to AI job displacement is virtual economies. When automation makes physical goods nearly free, value has to go somewhere — and that’s creativity, experience, human connection. Second Life showed us this years ago: people made real money building virtual stuff. The work doesn’t vanish, it just moves online. Will it be a rough social transition? Absolutely. But honestly, I don’t see Universal Basic Income ever working — too many political and economic obstacles. Virtual worlds where people can create and sell their own tools and content? That feels more realistic to me. We’ve always been good at finding new ways to create value.
