Excellent to bring awareness to this issue. The most harmful part however is the AI videos stealing content, not that they are misleading. Science has been wrong before, countless times. At no point should anyone be telling kids what they should and shouldn't accept as fact, but that they should QUESTION the world around them. The one teacher responded the best way. Not flat out saying it's all false, but to think more carefully and not believe all of it. Let the kids be curious, just encourage them to take in information from a variety of sources. There were a few topics you chose to label as false, when in reality they are still open to debate amongst credible scientists. Wrong ideas should not be shamed and censored, they should be open to anyone who is curious. Banning bad ideas in science is just another way of banning books. Sometimes pseudoscience becomes science given enough time, but of course not always. All ideas should be open to intense scrutiny, but never withheld from those curious. Even if it is wrong, you never know where inspiration for a groundbreaking discovery might come from. Carl Sagan, speaking on the scientific community's harsh treatment of those who supported the electric universe theory, said that "The suppression of uncomfortable ideas may be common in religion and politics, but it is not the path to knowledge; it has no place in the endeavor of science." Telling the next generation of scientists to avoid content because wrong ideas are harmful, is even more dangerous. Don't just tell kids the moon isn't made of cheese, help them design an experiment to test their hypothesis.
