the words rights is wrong.
It implies it might have some kind of power over others.
I think protection is the better word.
They dont have to be the same as humans, but they certainly should be protected.
I think only when the science such a level that we can transform the human mind into something digital will we see and overlap and the idea of rights will be natural.
Until then, even with advanced AI we dont know if its 'alive' in the sense to give it rights.
But it would and should be protected at the same time.
