40-year-old unemployed web developer here. To one of your final points, I've pretty much disassociated from everything, and am really just riding it out waiting to die. Pessimistic and defeatist to be sure, but at this point, I've hardly got any gas left. LLMS and AGI are failed technologies that have no actual value, but they expose the fact that people making the decisions at so many companies don't value work, don't understand it, and it's all driven by the cynical desire to get rid of their "pesky workforce". There's no humanity or drive to build a better world from it alll.
You tie that to the current political climate in this country, where every day is just one fresh new hell after another, and I'm just tired of it.
