The same tech that's behind LLMs and generative AI has lits of uses. Like Google translate. It's nearly identical to an LLM, in fact it is tge source of one of the main advances that made LLMs possible.
These things have lots of legitimate uses, but none of them are big and flashy like the image and text generation. It's not going to create bew industries the way the Internet did. And big tech can't sustain itself without that level of hype and insane growth. This is grasping at straws to keep an unsustainable model of how a business is structured afloat.
