(hey, i know there are alot of, yknow, spelling/grammer issues in here, but please dont take it as a sign im dumb, im just really exausted)
ok, i dont think ai art is a bad thing,
so ofc, i think what you are doing is wrong (welcome back einstien)
ai art (in my opinion ofc,) should be veiwed as an experimental tool, im no bitcoin ai grifter, but at the same time, i think you are misunderstanding it. (please join my discusion about this,) ai art is getting closer and closer to the point of going in the place of an actual artist, this is WRONG of course, but ai isnt stealing your work! (im pretty sure) there is no evidence for this, and ai doesent even work like that, (to my knolege) ai image creators, or, atleast one of them, use images the same way/reason a person who lost their memory would look at them, to figure out what things looks like, there are no characteristics being copied or stolen, this is the same thing that ai image detectors use to figure out things.
yes, i know the point i just made INCLUDES the possibility of copying a characteristic, but its not intentional.
now, all this yappin for my actual point; you shouldnt do this because the way ai art is made, and the dangers of it, are completly seperate issues, currently the basis is (from what ive seen) that ai art is copying artists (to an extent) and this is hurting the artists. in other words, you are going for a cheap, ai slop bot instead of geting profesional and helpful work, with (i think) is wayyy far away from the actual problem, instead of ruining the generation, can we please ruin the apropriation? maybe petition the government to force ai image to have a way to detect them, or (somehow, cus this will be hard) cultivate an environment where its extreemly taboo/weird. i personally want to see ai flurish as a design tool, something to help small studios/creators, and something nerdy and techy, i saw this one dude make a program that takes all of his photos of grafiti writing, and made a mathmaticly average grafiti writing (it was really cool).
long story short, we should focus on the use part, and not the creation part, because of the side effects, because of the cool part of it (i mean the tech stuff, ima nerd), and because of the overhate (witch i didnt mention in the big paragraph).
EDIT: I also feel like the whole ai art bad community is kinda generalizing the pro ai side, there’s the bitcoin guys, the iffy guys (me), there’s the artists are over reacting guys, and a whole bunch more that is in between me and the bitcoin bros, (i encourage you to list some other groups you may know of when interacting with this argument,)
