The idea is to reduce population before introducing the automation. They will "remove" those who are replaced. The economy will adjust to the smaller consumer base that still needs to work. Untill theres only afew million left. Then they will have paradise, the earth will heal back to a verdant garden. The few people left will have their pick of whatever oasis of beauty they desire.
(untill they F up and one of the loonies gets the key to the kingdom, then population size cannot save them like its saving us now, from them)
