If AI gets good enough that anyone who can type plain English can create anything than its not just programmers that will be in trouble.. all large businesses and corporations will suddenly be opened up to extreme competition and many will go under, like they deserve. The industry is filled with mid-level and high-level managers and CEOs who are essentially empty windbags who bring no real value to a company and whose sole skill is bullying and exploiting their employees into doing all the work. The good news about AI is that these empty windbag managers are going to be replaced soon. Meanwhile, the intelligent programmers may not be able to get programming jobs anymore but they are smart enough to work with the AI tools and surpass the non-contributing windbag middle managers. Let's not forget this!
