The argument that human artists always copy styles and get inspiration for their art from other artists—and bring these qualities into their own work—is the same as what today's AI does, is an utterly juvenile, disgusting, and futile argument.
"People love art, but they don’t give a shit about artists or the process of making art."If they did, this AI-generated Shitstorm wouldn’t be happening under the excuse of “trends.”Human artists don’t just copy. They reinterpret, internalize, and emotionally respond to what they see. Inspiration in humans is driven by experience, emotion, memory, and intent.
AI has none of these.
AI generates output by statistically recombining patterns found in its dataset — it doesn’t feel or understand what it's creating. And even if human artists steal or copy art, styles, etc., from other artists, the mechanics are not the same as the way AI does it.
If I want to draw the Mona Lisa or any such famous piece on canvas or in Photoshop, I still need to acquire and hone that level of skill — a level built through struggle, sweat, experience, and relentless pursuit over hours, days, and years.
And even then, there’s no guarantee that you’ll achieve that level of mastery, even after checking all the boxes. And if you somehow manage to get there, you still need emotional investment, trial and error, feedback and reflection, and more.
This process is the soul of art.“Art should always be done by a living, breathing life form (in this case, human beings) who possess the power to feel a spectrum of emotions — not by soulless machines.”Today, it’s coming after painters, animators, digital artists, etc.
Tomorrow, it’ll be mimicking the voices and styles of legends like Bob Dylan, Lata Mangeshkar, or Arijit Singh — so that anyone can make a song by just typing a few prompts. Is that what you call creativity? Or is it stealing? If you go to a restaurant, tweak a dish slightly while ordering, and the waiter brings you the meal — does that make you the chef?
No. The chef made the dish.
In this case, AI is the chef — and you? You're far from being the artist. And if, one day, robots start playing football or cricket better than any human has ever played, does that make it morally right for our civilization to let them take over?
Art is not only about imagination, creativity, or telling a story.
Art gives birth to other art forms like singing, acting, dancing, painting, animating, and more — in a decentralized way.If that's no longer the case, then every form of art will just shrink into a few micro art forms, like writing and directing only, where someone can create an entire movie just by typing a few prompts — from script to final output. There will be no place left for actors, singers, dancers, Musicians, photographers, painters, animators, sculptors, VFX artists, etc.Do we really want to live in that kind of world?
