I think she should definitely read Dune before further using her analogy. The interpretation is wrong, and the motivations and actions taken are a lot more nuanced than the film can convey, since we don't get to read their minds and miss a lot of conversation and lore/historically relevant information that can't be squeezed into a few hours.
