The trucking industry has been on the decline and has become a basic sh*t show over the years. (From all aspects)
Today, the percentage of low quality / unqualified drivers is absolutely appalling. (And is basically the same across the board with a large percentage of people possessing any level of drivers license)
Late night infomercials proclaiming that their school can "train you to be a professional truck driver in 6 weeks or less" plus the rubber stamping of licenses being handed out to people that can barely speak, read or write English (and drive with the same comprehension level) has made a mockery of the industry as a whole and has made the highways the least safe in history.
Trucking today has little semblance to trucking of days past.
Automation may not be as bad as it is being made out to be.
