Ai algorithms are not and never will be "conscious". They will present a perfect simulation of it, but it will be just that, a simulation. When I see a street magician push a coke bottle through a shop window pane without breaking the glass, I have no idea how that could be done, but It's not magic. The result and appearance may be identical to magic, but it's just a simulation - a trick.
