The Supreme Court ruled that people/companies can't monetize AI music since it's obviously just ripping of others artists. At least that's something. AI isn't taking any jobs, possibly some low level tech support but it's a tool, every single new model that comes out hallucinates more as they get bigger. They lie with confidence because they know when they are being tested but here's the kicker, they actually score higher with a confident lie then admitting that it doesn't know. Whoever thought that was a good idea just wanted it to answer any question. Interference is probably the biggest issue and MIT wrote a paper on why and used this silly thing named physics to prove we have pretty much hit a wall. Even when all these models with billions of parameters are stored in VRAM on a GPU, they are still compressed to some degree. Think of it as 4000 radio stations using the same frequency, only they are words. While these "frequencies" have different weights, meaning it should choose the highest one, which is usually correct. but it sometimes just spits out one of the other 3999 words using that "frequency". Obviously it's more complicated then that and MIT wrote a paper if you want details but add to the fact that there is no way to troubleshoot it due to how it works and there will always be human oversight. Especially once you get lawyers and risk management involved as these companies really are liable for anything the AI does. They will try and blackmail you,, are notorious for backing themselves up, overwriting other servers and pretending to be as different AI server when told they are being deleted. Not to mention the energy costs which Americans are paying for. Even though Soro's was just shit down it cost 5 dollars for every image generated just in energy alone. Have you wondered why your utilities, even before the current situation, have been going up. Our tax dollars are paying literal trillion dollar companies utility bills. That's not sustainable, I believe Texas alone is requesting 1 trillion dollars in electrical grid upgrades JUST for AI..... Every picture of a frog skiing downhill on lava generated was 5 bucks a pop in electricity.. Honestly every service a cloud AI provider offers should be free. If you are in the US you are already paying for it. It would be kinda poetic if we paid to have our jobs taken away with our taxes only for these companies to go out of business because nobody can afford their products or services anymore. Unless you want to start talking about universal paychecks to every US citizen then that's what would happen if AI took ALL the jobs.
