What are jobs for? I mean seriously why is it necessary to do labor? If you think about this for a while you will realize that losing our jobs, while increasing productivity, is the best thing that could happen. Yes huge changes are ahead even if AI doesn’t progress much further.
Yes, there are serious problems with the transition, especially since the solutions are legislative, and, well, those guys 🙄. But the rub is that it HAS to happen, so whining about AI is not the answer. The pockets of pain (euphemistically called the “K” shaped economy) are a real, and present problem. But again, what to do. The problem is that we need serious legislative plans to deal with the “dislocation”, but there is no other answer.
Also UBI is the worst of all possible outcomes, as it allows the rich to stay rich and to put the poor into share cropping like cycles of being stuck at the bottom. That is, of course, unless we have AI take off, which I agree is not something to count on.
You are welcome for the engagement boast for your fear mongering click bait.
