If that was possible they would already do!
Just like simple biological organisms...
But it seems like this only happens with certain types of biological organisms who has nervous systems... and not just any organism that emerges from complexity.
And a good question is why the hell would we want to program AI to simulate the same brain activity as pain and consciousness from the animal brain??? This seems very pointless to do.
