There are things AI is good for, even art, but the level at which people are trying to use it is what makes it bad. For instance I saw an ad using an AI image on a gaming website. It was fine because I scrolled right by it and didn't notice, but it didn't look great, it wasn't eye catching, it was poor, but it worked. Had it been a real artist, I don't think my reaction would've been much different. Mostly because artists don't generally pour there souls into ads. So AI art on ads, go for it, but if you want a really good ad, don't use it. As for multi-million and multi-billion dollar projects? AI generated art and dialogue should not be presented to the audience, if it is, it should be guided, by an artist. But every bit of AI used degrades the underlying feeling that humans feel when they see/hear an actual artists work.
Before you think I'm here to only say bad things about AI, no. I think AI works really well in animation, not for lazy projects, but imagine if an artist could draw 1 picture per second instead 12/24/30/60 ? Here I think AI could be helpful, it would allow artists to do less monotonous work, and improve the finish piece with more fluid animation. This would be especially good if done hand in hand with an artist, because when you draw 2 pictures, 1 second apart, you can view what the AI does to weave them together, and once you're skilled in using it, you can manipulate that to give it the flair you want it to have, and not just the slop that would come out. AI also bridges the gap in game creation for artists and developers. For indie games, a problem often arises where a developer will have a great idea, but no art skills. Likewise an artist may have a world, story, an art ready to go, but no practical knowledge on developing to bring that to life. With AI we can leverage it to create temporary stop gaps on small projects. So a dev can get really close to what they want, or an artist can get really close to what they want. Then when more people can see what is done by those people, maybe they can reach out to an actual artist or actual developer, especially once they have enough money earned from the initial project to fund it.
I guess what I'm saying is, I see a future where AI can be used like a tool, as I think it should be. I don't think it should replace everyone in any community. It will result in worse products for everyone.
