have you ever thought why high achieving students are more likely to use AI? do you think they become high achievers because of AI? no that is not true.
I can advocate for this because I am a senior in high school who got a 35 on the ACT, 3.8 uw and 4.6 w. I have always been a high achieving student, but that does not mean that I understand or learning concepts quicker. I am a very slow learner and I’ve always been this way and I can say that the school system does not advocate for slow learners. In the public school system, slow learners are at a disadvantage compared to regular learners, especially being an honor student. This will encourage many students who are high achieving to use AI to keep up their “place” as an honor student. Nobody wants to be demoted from smart to dumb. Once school systems start emphasizing learning more than memorizing and using on the tests, high achievers will start placing more value and actually learning the content instead of just figuring out how to get an A on the test.
