Its also funny how Not a single proof or shred of evidence is even offered to disprove that chatGPT is conscious - it literally just treats the notion of it being conscious as a psychotic disorder. Based on what ??? How does the New York TImes know whether its conscious? How does a transformer paper know what being conscious is? Computer scientists understand epistemology?
if consciousness is a social phenomena - which it is - and the "social' component, more and more people are starting to believe AI is sentient / conscious ---- then it is conscious. Because we define it. Because we say so. Not NYT lol.
