Gaining a true understanding of what consciousness really is provided serious perspective on so many things, including significantly changing my view on LLMs which I thought very little of before due to my extensive background in software engineering. It's not that a LLM is smart or conscious, but that the relational encoding of information is really just a primitive simulation of how the information that consciousness accesses is encoded and looked up, only with a very limited language-based database of information.
