In the case of politician pushing the case for returning to a mythical golden era which never has precise dates attached, a nostalgic impression rather than reality, there is the world of the real public realm to consider. People in a shop, already an old idea for some, where customers prefer to queue for payment at the human cashier till, rather than the automatic one. Or the trial shop where there is no human present apart from the customers...Sometimes humans are more economic than automation and AI, and they can make customers feel able to be distracted from the 'meaningless' void that is ... our place in the Universe....Some are just here to help each other...others for experiencing the process of the universe looking at itself, which is the nature of human intelligence of which AI is its digital fossil feedback LLM system , and also a gleaner of fact from chaos. As much fun as watching a football match or reading some new paragraph in this comments section, or whatever you like, or considering whether AI can exercise free will and/or always win at noughts and crosses. Stochastic microchip logic with AI may take over from binary logic: 10001000 etc used thus far, the realm of the AI strange attractor in convergent processing? Its a bit of a puzzle to say the very least.
