AI image generation technology still has imperfections, that’s true. Today, if an artist uses an AI-generated image as a reference, they must be aware of those specific errors to correct them, which is completely reasonable. At the same time, it is undeniable that human art carries a history, a life, and unique experiences reflected in every stroke and decision. That personal narrative is something that, at least for now, AI cannot fully replicate.
However, it is also important to recognize that AI’s potential is enormous and that as technology advances, it is very likely that these tools will minimize or even eliminate many of the current errors. It is not impossible to imagine a future where AI-generated images are so precise and detailed that the distinction between “errors” and “styles” becomes increasingly subtle. In that context, the discussion about what is or isn’t art becomes even more subjective. After all, the concept of art has been debated for centuries—for example, while some consider photorealism not to be art because it lacks meaning, others argue that abstraction is not art because it is not visually striking. The word "art" is used so broadly today that its definition becomes diluted.
What truly matters is the freedom of choice. If someone enjoys AI-generated content and finds it appealing, what’s the problem? Likewise, if someone prefers handmade art by a human, that is their right. The diversity of tastes and approaches is what enriches visual culture. Criticizing or even attempting to sabotage the use of AI tools, such as using methods to interfere with their functionality (for example, Nightshade to “poison” data), contributes nothing positive. In the end, it is simply about offering alternatives that provide greater access to quality content at a lower cost.
Ultimately, each person should be able to create and consume the type of content that satisfies them without anyone imposing what is more valid or “profound.” The competition between AI-generated content and human-made art does not have to be a zero-sum struggle. Rather, it can be seen as an expansion of the creative spectrum. If technology reaches a point where it produces content that many consider superior and more affordable, then instead of viewing it as a threat, we should appreciate what it brings: more diversity, greater accessibility, and, over time, even higher quality advancements.
I believe people should be more tolerant and think before attacking something that, ultimately, does no harm to anyone. The evolution of AI in image generation (and other fields) does not mean that humans will stop creating art; rather, it opens a new chapter in artistic expression and creativity. In the end, what truly matters is that everyone has the freedom to enjoy, create, and share what they are passionate about without undermining the work and effort of others.
And before you say this text was also generated by AI—no, it wasn’t (or maybe it was), but does it really matter? Did you get the message?
