I disagree on your stance but I found it fascinating listening to your discussion. The AI understanding has been poorly described to artists and it’s not stealing our work it’s just algorithms. Your arguement it can generate 3000 copies is a better argument in my mind. Still I can run it locally on my machine and get the equivalent which freaked people out. We have a handful of open source image generators ethically sourced and they aren’t fundamentally worse than what came before.
Also ai art will have someone who is an ai artist it’s just going to take time for people to see it and understanding it.
Finally the learning aspect is a concern for me because I don’t know how we get kids to the training point they are successful without the grind we old folks went through.
