When you are asking for an AI image you do not care about "expressing" anything, you just want the product and you want it quick.
Artist can still express stuff, AI never got in your way on that. AI, if anything, would take your commisions and jobs away, which... isn't meant to be about you expressing yourself at all, but rather following the prompts of the employer to realise THEIR vision.
Also, doing usign AI as a base on anything is completely fine. you get a pretty solid reference and idea SUPERFAST. Anyone saying we should just not get use of the ability to do that is delusional and insane on my eyes.
