If you think about what money represents, it is the value of human labor. You can think about property as having a monitary value, but ultimately the value of human labor is the primary representation of the value in a monitary unit. The replacement of human labor by technology is nothing new, but the scale of replacement by AI has the potential to wipe out entire sectors of human labor. I believe we are on the cusp of a new Luddism movement, where the people that are incapable ever again getting a paying job will rebel against this new technology. To a degree, I think large segments of the population will embrace AI taking their jobs as long as they are taken care of, but the shift from capitalism to something far more like socialism is likely to be a very contentious issue. If the governments of the world do not manage this carefully, there will be blood.
