These guys are concerned about "human extinction" resulting from a technology perroting human language and cognition. I'll be the first to welcome the distraction, but if words have any meaning, let's keep "extinction" to global warming. We're talking about a doom scenario resulting from LLMs going AWOL, but are still making plans for our grand kids who'll be faced with rising temperatures that cannot support human life as we know it.
