It's the same as with police and criminals, we need good AI to fight the inevitable bad AI. A good AI can also protect us from other advancing technology. Sure somebody could create a new virus, but what if our AI let us develop a vaccine in hours instead of months... Having seen how gpt5 went backwards from gpt4 I don't think this is going to be a "next 5 years" thing though.
