Only man who calls himself the most advanced of all lifeforms is stupid enough to create the seeds of his own destruction. Even fungus tries to grow upwards. But *us??* Nah. As if chemical warfare and nukes weren't enough, we're now building lifeforms designed to make our species wholly redundant. And we don't have to do it. Who's pushing us towards faster, quicker, speedier? The only thing that need to work fast is medicine. Why then are we so *obsessed* with speed? Where do we think it's going to get us? We live on a planet that is simply going around in circles, and so are we. We're chasing the wrong kind of rush. The only upshot is that our ability to evolve intellectually might mean we're always one step ahead of AI or... we might see which way the wind is blowing and in time decide to fuse with AI to create a new lifeform.
