We are consumers that are going to buy things eventually. Why not be directed to our predicted interests. It's a much more efficient way for a buyer and seller to be brought together. Less time and energy is wasted when we allow computer algorithms to offer up the things we would seek anyway... So the "I have nothing to hide" argument still applies. Paranoia and guilt once again standing in the way of intelligent progress... It is the conspiracy theorists, driven by a thousand forms of unresolved childhood trauma, manifesting as acute social paranoia, stubborn mistrust and fantasy that is the real problem.
