AI is not the problem, the problem is who owns them. It is just another type of production source material that owned by the few. Technology improved and will keep improving, but human will still suffer because of they cannot solve the problem of a society. AI is so powerful nowadays but still a few of people can really leverage them into production even now when it is just getting started and price is low. I predict the price of using AI will grow over time until a level that regular people cannot use them into any sort of meaningful production. Everything go back to "NORMAL".
