1:26:05 my fear is that it would have to be a united global effort and you are not going to get major players like China to participate. In democratic nations you can use people’s voices to speak up, but China is not that, so my fear is that push back in the democratic nations will only push all the ai corporations to places that will allow them to do whatever, leaving the democratic nations to just have the same controlling corporations running their lives but doing so int eh cover of governments like the ccp. Democracies will regulate themselves out of the market but they won’t stop the onset of this tech we just simply won’t have the center of this new economy in the democratic nations shifting the global economy to more autocratic states that don’t have to worry about what their citizenship thinks. Then as far as data centers there are many developing nations that will have a hard time turning down the kind of capital these corporations will be offering. China already has many exploitative business deals in Africa. Idk I think we could play this wrong by being zero sum in the westernized democracies which just ends up handing this new industry and the massive global power that comes with it to autocratic nations like China and Russia. I think we’re being naive about the power of people standing up to their government,we can do that here but in so many places people can not. This is a global whole humanity turn, we can’t just fight it in the west.
