I use both. Tuff to find artists that A, have a style I like. B, are open for coms, C, draw furries. And D, Trust.
I've been burned by more artists than I have not been. That's why I really only stick with the same 4 but they're in high demand and I just can't get a slot. Or they're almost never open.
But I can't trust the AI to actually get any of my characters right. So I don't bother. And I'm not dealing with setting up some software on my ancient slow toaster oven ( only has 2 fan areas ) desktop to get something like Mid Journey working. Especially when I won't pay for any special models or keys, like you think your key to another engines worth money? It's not.
But if I need 37 kitchen concepts of the same room spat out... The AI's free compared to an actual kitchen and bathroom designer. Especially when I don't even own a home.... Yet.
