An AI user calling themselves an artist is like calling yourself a chef because you customized your options when ordering at a McDonalds kiosk.
This argument is like that very same person saying cooking with an electric stove is the same as using the kiosk.
Even if the technology did a LOT of heavy lifting, which it doesn't, it would be closer to heating something up in the microwave, which still takes more hands-on involvement than ordering at a kiosk
