He's right.
Nobody cares about your code. Not even your boss.
What matters is if you managed to deliver the product that was asked of you.
Period.
You can make the fastest and most elaborate piece of code ever, but if it doesn't end up doing what the client asked, it's useless.
Coding is just a means to an end and he understands that.
AI is inevitable and the ones who don't adapt to it, are simply going to be left behind as everybody else that didn't embrace technology in the past.
That is the reality and people need to deal with it.
