In general I agree with you. But you forgot one important thing: selection is also a creative process. Like eg the famous banana taped on a wall. It's art, bc the artist selected these two things and brought them together. You brought an example yourself: the ai shit posts. So promting something to ai and selecting one particular result can be called art too. But it still is something completely different to someone sketching something of course.
Also: just the fact, that such a discussion rises, shows that it's highly subjective. You can't 'understand' art, you just consume and feel it. So that whole discussion on its own shows, that ai art is indeed art, but a whole other part of it. It does not replace human painters, musicians and such, but honestly it will find its place in the long term.
