I agree that a major issue with AI, I would argue the key issue with the current generation of AI, is that it is trying to replace humans in key aspects of the human experience, things that are considered sacred even. Art is the expression of our experiences, an out flow of our soul. Meaningful human interaction is key to human survival and happiness, to the point that it is considered a necessity. Learning is key to our growth and i personally of the believe that to stop learning is to die. AI should be a tool that helps people do tasks that require working through a large of data, that is what they are naturally good at. Tasks that AI should strive to replace humans in are jobs that humans don't want to do, jobs that are inherently soul crushing and monotonous so that we have the freedom to pursue things that are meaningful and fulfilling, things like art, learning, and social connection. The reality is the things that tech bros are trying to push AI to dominate are the things that are most fulfilling for humans, activities that are artistic or that allow us to overcome interesting problems. As a writer I don't want AI to write for me, for it would take my soul out of my writing. As an engineer and a programmer, I do not want AI solving my problems, for I would ruin the challenge. As a physicist, I do not want AI working on solutions, because the journey of discovery is part of the fun. The ultimate irony is though, AI sucks at these things, it lacks creativity, it has no problem solving skills, and it is incapable of truly comprehending anything. AI is only capable of comparing and organizing data, and computational mathematics. why? Because it works on a computer, and that is all a computer is capable of doing.
