Unfortunately tech advances usually progress faster than the laws, which only reign in abuses after the fact. Which means, it needs a period of pure pain, and exploitation to persist for a time, maybe a decade or two before the pain threshold changes the will of the people. By then, a lot of the abuse will be normalized. It is what it is, and history will repeat. AI is now tied to the future of the country, militarily applications first as always with tech, and the economy in competition with other countries. Any such laws to reign in AI abuses cannot curtail its growth as it's already too big to fail so they have to be smart. A lot of people are going to get caught up, it is what it is. Bernie is great at showing the problem not the solution though but we need voices like him in charge.
