the whole point that AI enables people to do art they can't do already is a false claim, because commissioning artists to do the art for you is probably as old as art itself. the issue is AI generators are using VC money and massive company coffers to give you access to an unrealistically cheap way to commission artist to do your art. it isn't learning to be it's own artist, it's providing access to nonconsensual and uncompensated commissions (and destroying the planet to do what we already are capable of doing without it)
