What I find surprisingly lacking in discussions like these is proper representation of social sciences in the panel, be it sociologists, historians, political scientists (etc). If the goal is to talk about AI and technology's impact on our future, and therefore by definition about societies, cultures, people, locally and globally, then I'd expect to see some experts of such fields included into the discussion, because that is their field of expertise, unlike with non-social science experts. It'd be wise to include some computational/IT experts to benefit from their expertise into understanding the technology itself (however so often they seem lacking and ill-advised when it comes to social matters and the technology's impact on peoples and their societies), but it seems wild, nonsensical if not sometimes cynical to me that the other way around social scientists are so very often categorically and systemically excluded on matters that relate to THEIR fields of expertise, while non-experts often talk so confidently on social matters they don't actually have much expertise in.
