While it is laughable that some tech enthusiasts don't have tech literacy, I just don't think it's fair to judge them for it. Technology has grown so rapidly, especially with AI, that some things change weekly. I think all of us tech enthusiasts are at least a little behind on tech literacy, AND there's a bunch of misinformation out there (even distributed through Google's AI) so even if you do some cursory research on a subject, you can't guarantee it's correct, unless you litterally devote hours to double-checking your info. I like AI in theory, I just wish it wasn't terrible for the environment and taking jobs away from people. When I look at all the good AI could do to help people organize their lives, assist artists, musicians, and authors create amazing works that generally couldn't be created without a team, making video games more engaging and immersive, and even assisting doctors to improve medical techniques and programs, I'm convinced we are in the worst timeline.
