I completely disagree. Difficulty of the outcome has nothing to do with copyright protection. If i take a photo on my iPhone right now, it literally takes me no effort whatsoever, I just click a button. Yet, I still own the copyright to that image, because I took it. I think AI art should be the same, you click enter, you own what is spit out. There isn't any other reasonable way I can see to handle it.
