This is the fundamental flaw with a 100% camera system. If Elon could get away with training a neural network off of the cars vibes at the time, he 100% would. The way it currently works is, the cameras are used to do a bunch of trigonometry to reconstruct the real world in 3d. It's pretty cool stuff actually. But that's what LIDAR is for. It projects lazers and has a complete depth map of the world around it. Tesla cheaping out is clearly biting them in the behind right now.
