I don't understand the legalities of this. There are things you must check on route while trucking. At least in Canada. Load checks and inspections are mandatory at set distances. Brake checks are mandatory. One time my lighting wires wiggled loose while driving. I pulled over and rewired the plug. Simple but necessary. Things like that. Tire checks, and even trailer wheels freezing up or brakes freezing up in winter. A truck won't see that. Going driverless, legally, I can't understand it. I've even come across accidents where a police officer or fire fighter on scene had to give verbal direction.
